Cyber experts to discuss insurance industry cyber risk at 2016 Director's Regulatory Summit
Jefferson City, Mo - The Missouri Department of Insurance is pleased to announce that cybersecurity experts Jarrett W. Kolthoff and Arturo Perez-Reyes will be featured during a plenary session at the 2016 Director's Regulatory Summit in Kansas City, the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 13th. The session is called, "Decoding Cybersecurity: It's All About Risk Management".
Kolthoff is the President, CEO and Founder of SpearTip-Cyber Counterintelligence, a firm that provides tools for companies to mitigate cyber threats. Perez-Reyes is Senior Vice President at Hub International Insurance Services, Inc., where he leads the firm's Cyber and Technology Practice.
"The entire financial services industry - and the insurance industry in particular - has quickly become prime targets for cyber criminals. This threat jeopardizes the insurance industry's bottom line, but this also means insurance consumers' personal information is at greater risk," said Missouri Department of Insurance Director John M. Huff. "These two cyber experts will expose the risks the insurance industry faces, what that risk means in terms of consumer and financial harm and will discuss the current status of the cyber insurance market and what the future holds."
Kolthoff is a former Special Agent for U.S. Army Counterintelligence and has more than two decades of experience in information security. He is known as a respected authority on cyber crime, cyber terrorism, cybersecurity and cyber intelligence and is often called upon to serve as an expert witness in cyber crime cases involving embezzlement, collusion, intellectual property theft and corporate espionage.
Perez-Reyes works as both an insurance broker and risk consultant at Hub International. He has provided risk and enterprise-risk consulting to some of the world's largest-financial platform firms such as Bloomberg, PayPal and CUNA Mutual. Perez-Reyes is also a member of the professional faculty at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. He has lectured for 26 years on e-commerce, communication, insurance, sales, and green business.
Immediately before the "Decoding Cybersecurity" session, President and Chief Executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Esther George, will share her perspectives on the economy during a plenary session of the Summit.
