Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance names Tyler Hobbs as new Legislative Director
JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance (DCI) Acting Director Mick Campbell announced that Tyler Hobbs has assumed the role of Legislative Director for DCI. Beginning January 13, Hobbs assumed responsibility for the legislative duties of the department’s Insurance Divisions, Division of Finance, Division of Credit Unions, and the Office of the Public Counsel.
“We are happy to welcome Tyler to the DCI team,” Campbell said. “His legislative experience and abilities will be a valuable addition for us as we move forward under Governor Kehoe’s administration.”
Mr. Hobbs has most recently served as the Legislative Director for the Office of the Governor. He also served as the Deputy Policy and Legislative Director as well as Senior Policy Analyst since joining the Office of the Governor in August 2022. Before joining Governor Parson’s team, he served as the Legislative Director for the Missouri Department of Public Safety after working as the Director of Strategic Initiatives for the Missouri Republican Party during the 2020 election cycle.
Mr. Hobbs graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in political science. He is also a combat veteran of the United States Army, serving 12 years as a civil affairs sergeant and participating in overseas missions, including in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Republic of Georgia.
