Time is running out, Medicare open enrollment ends Dec. 7
Missouri seniors, who have not enrolled, should contact CLAIM now
Jefferson City, Mo - The Missouri Department of Insurance is reminding Missourians that Medicare open enrollment ends on Dec. 7. To help consumers choose a plan that best meets their needs; the department offers assistance through the CLAIM program.
CLAIM provides Missourians on Medicare and their caregivers free and unbiased help from certified counselors. Seniors can ask questions by phone or arrange one-on-one counseling by calling 800-390-3330 or visiting missouriclaim.org.
"If you are a Medicare recipient and haven't enrolled yet for 2016, I strongly encourage you to contact a CLAIM representative now," said John M. Huff, director of the department. "Time is quickly running out to make plan selections for next year."
Counselors can answer questions about switching your Part D prescription drug coverage or Medicare Advantage plans. CLAIM also can assist Missourians with limited income to determine whether they qualify for federal or state help in paying for prescription drugs. Medicare offers the Extra Help program, and the state offers the MoRx program.
