Missouri Department of Insurance reminds seniors Medicare Open Enrollment ends Dec. 7
Consumers urged to take advantage of free counseling program
Jefferson City, Mo - The Missouri Department of Insurance is reminding Missourians that Medicare open enrollment ends on Dec. 7. To help consumers choose a plan that best meets their needs, the department offers assistance through the CLAIM program.
Funded by the department and Medicare, CLAIM provides free, unbiased help to Missourians on Medicare and their caregivers.
"As time is running out on open enrollment, Missourians should be wary of scam artists who try to steal personal information," said John M. Huff, director of the Missouri Department of Insurance. "We strongly encourage consumers to utilize the expert counselors at the CLAIM program, who can assist consumers in reviewing their coverage options and in making an informed decision."
Missouri Consumers can speak with a counselor by phone or arrange one-on-one counseling by calling 800-390-3330 or by visiting missouriclaim.org.
CLAIM also can assist consumers on limited income determine whether they qualify for federal or state help in paying for prescription drugs. Medicare offers the Extra Help program, and the state offers the MoRx program.
